INNOVATIVE organisations and businesses across Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire and South West Wales are being encouraged to come forward with ambitious project ideas as a major new funding opportunity opens.
The South West Wales Corporate Joint Committee (SWWCJC) has launched a call for expressions of interest for larger capital projects that can help drive sustainable economic growth across the region.
Projects will typically be valued at more than £500,000 and should demonstrate clear regional economic impact.
The funding opportunity is being delivered through the Welsh Government-backed Local Growth Fund and is aimed at projects that support priorities including business growth and innovation, skills and employment, and improvements to regional infrastructure.
Eligible proposals must align with both the South West Wales Regional Economic Delivery Plan and Welsh Government Local Growth Fund priorities, while demonstrating deliverability, financial viability, long-term legacy and environmental sustainability.
Councillor Rob Stewart, chair of the SWWCJC, said: “This is an exciting opportunity to unlock investment in ambitious projects that can make a real difference to our regional economy.
“We want to hear from innovative organisations, businesses and partners with ideas that can boost productivity, support jobs and skills, strengthen infrastructure and help create long-term sustainable growth across South West Wales.
“The region has enormous strengths and potential. This funding can help bring forward projects that will support our communities, create opportunities and contribute to a stronger and more prosperous future.”
Expressions of interest are being sought for projects that can be completed by December 2028. The current stage is not a formal funding application, but successful proposals may be invited to progress to a full application and due diligence stage.
The deadline for submissions is October 31, 2026.
