Carmarthenshire MP Ann Davies was on hand to help Shopmobility Carmarthen launch its latest service improvements, made possible through generous funding from The National Lottery Community Fund.

Thanks to the funding, Shopmobility Carmarthen has acquired four brand-new electric scooters, replaced essential mobility equipment parts, upgraded its IT systems, and developed a new website to better connect with users across the region.

The project was officially launched by Caerfyrddin MP Ann Davies, who visited the facility to meet with volunteers, staff, and service users.

Ann, a longstanding advocate for inclusive access and mobility, praised the team’s dedication and the impact of the service on local residents.

“Shopmobility plays a vital role in ensuring that people of all ages and abilities can remain active, independent, and engaged in their communities. It’s a pleasure to support a project that is improving everyday life for so many,” she said.

During her visit, the MP toured the premises, observed demonstrations of the new scooters, and gained insight into the daily support Shopmobility provides to residents and visitors in Carmarthen.

The new website, launching later this month, will offer easy online booking, volunteering opportunities, and up-to-date information on mobility services available in Carmarthen.
