Small businesses and farmers looking to cut costs, improve efficiency and increase revenue will be able to take advantage of free practical advice on offer in Narberth later this month.
The Welsh Development Agency's WIS trailer will be located at the Towns Moor Car Park from Tuesday to Thursday, April 27-29. Sessions on-board will offer local businesses real solutions to real problems including how to develop marketing activities and simplify book-keeping duties. Staff from PBI, Woodhead Consulting and the WDA will be outlining the business benefits of using IT.
On Tuesday evening, in association with ELWa, farmer Huw Davies will demonstrate the value of computers in the day-to-day running of a farm. Farmers can now access the British Cattle Movement Service (BCMS) online. This allows them to register the movement of each animal via the internet, without the need to complete paper-based forms.
There will also be a fun but informative hands-on session providing an opportunity to try out desk-top publishing and digital photography to create sales and advertising literature, greetings cards, posters and menus.
Equipped with the latest technologies, the WDA's WIS trailer travels the length and breadth of Wales, providing impartial information, which promotes awareness of the benefits of ICT to hundreds of businesses and individuals, regardless of previous experience. It operates within the Welsh Assembly Government's Cymru Ar-Lein strategic framework for a Winning Wales.
On its last visit to the area, 75 delegates attended a similar successful event in Tenby. After the event, many went on to gain further support from local organisations.
