Sir,
Over the last eight to 10 weeks, we have encountered unacceptable behaviour on the 22.15hrs bus journey from Tenby to Kilgetty via Saundersfoot. Staff have received verbal abuse from passengers and in one case the roof of a new super low floor bus was damaged. We therefore intend to introduce the following measures with effect from today (Friday):
1. Anybody under the age of 18 will not be allowed to travel between Tenby and Kilgetty after 18.00 hrs unless accompanied by a responsible adult.
2. After 18.00 hours on Friday evenings only adult single tickets will be issued between Tenby and Kilgetty. OAP concessionary passes will also be accepted.
3. We reserve the right to refuse to carry: a) anybody in possesion of alcohol. b) anybody under the influence of alcohol. c) anybody whose behaviour is deemed by a member of staff to be unacceptable.
We would like to apologise for any inconvenience this causes, but we have a duty of care of all our passengers, who are entitled to travel without intimidation. We hope that these measures will rectify the problem. If they do not, we will have to seriously consider withdrawing this service after 22.00 hrs.
