The Colin O'Dare Masonic Bursary Award winner, Claire Heaton, will now complete her final year of the MSc Management course at Pembrokeshire College this year knowing that she has extra funds in her bank account thanks to the generous bursary scheme that has been operating for eight years. "It was lovely to get the recognition for my work," said Claire. "The bursary is going to be really useful in carrying out my final year dissertation on how Pembrokeshire based SMEs collaborate rather than compete to the benefit of the local economy." Claire will use her findings when working on the Energize project for PBI in Milford Haven. The report, like all MSc dissertations, will also be available to the public at the Pembrokeshire College learning centre. On presenting the bursary, Stephen Hookey, secretary of the Province of South Wales, Western Division, stated: "As Freemasons we are really pleased to be able to give our own money to make a difference to society, whether it's on a local, regional or national basis. "The Colin O'Dare Masonic Bursary Award is made on behalf of the Province - which encompasses the three counties of Pembrokeshire, Carmarthenshire and Ceredigionshire - and is awarded by Pembrokeshire College in recognition of excellence." Pembrokeshire College principal Glyn Jones acknowledged the generosity and support of the Province of South Wales, Western Division for the eight years that the bursary has been running.
