Tenby 10K 2009, generously sponsored for a third year by Coastal Cottages of Pembrokeshire, takes place on Sunday, at 11 am.
And the company is again offering prizes of a weekend break to the first male runner and first female runner to complete the race!
The run, which is expecting bumper entries, is organised by the TROT running club, St. Clears, with support on the day from Tenby Leisure Centre.
T-shirts and medals will be presented to all finishers. Trophies will also be presented in various age group categories, Open Female and Open Male; Veteran Female F35 (35-44) and F45 (45+); Veteran Male M40 (40-49) and M50 (50+); Male club team and Female club team; First business team.
Race numbers have increased steadily over the years and chip timing will be used for the first time this year.
Due to the complexity of marshalling this race, however, the organisers regret that children's races will not take place this year.
Unfortunately, over the years, the numbers taking part in the junior races have dwindled, and extra marshalls and other helpers are now needed to support the main run.
To enter the 10K, simply download a race form from http://www.trots.org.uk">www.trots.org.uk or pick one up from the Coastal Cottages office in Deer Park or Tenby Leisure Centre.
Fees are £10 in advance and £12 on the day for non-affiliated runners. Fees for runners registered with AAW or UKA are £8 in advance and £10 on the day.
Entries are available on the day, but will not be accepted after 10.30 am.
There will be no exceptions to this rule, as all details have to be entered into the chip timing system prior to the race and the organisers regret the start cannot be delayed for late entrants.
The 10K starts and finishes at Tenby Leisure Centre, looping around the edge of the town and passing through Penally.
"All participants are reminded that they need to register early because we close registration at 10.30," said one of the organisers, Ann Rowell, of the Trots. "The weather should be perfect, with a dry cloudy day forecast, so runners are reminded also to use the water stations provided."
