Complaints against a county councillor have been “rejected” by the ombudsman.
Clr. Jacob Williams says that four fellow councillors at Pembrokeshire County Council complained about him to the Public Services Ombudsman following last month’s full council meeting.
Clr. Williams was accused of “bullying behaviour” at that meeting, in reference to the chief executive Ian Westley, which he strongly denied at the time.
On his personal blog, Clr. Williams states that Councillorrs Ken Rowlands, David Bryan, Mark Carter and Rob Summons made complaints.
The response from the Ombudsman published by Clr. Williams states: “I have listened to the part of the debate to which you refer.
“I noted that the Chief Executive, as the Authority’s most senior officer, engaged in a debate with Councillor Williams.
“The Chief Executive explained that he has a good working relationship with the Police and dealt with Councillor Williams’s comments in an appropriate manner.
“In the circumstances, I am not persuaded that an investigation into this matter would be a proportionate use of the Ombudsman’s resources.”
