One of Tenby's local community groups has received a welcome financial boost from the Yorkshire Building Society's Charitable Foundation.
On its annual Foundation Day, which was sponsored by Taylors, of Harrogate, the makers of Yorkshire Tea, the society appealed to its members and the general public to nominate good causes to share in its special charity donation - whilst enjoying a nice cuppa!
Tenby Scout and Guide Hall was just one of over 300 good causes which received a share of the £42,000, donated by the Yorkshire's Charitable Foundation. The money was raised through the unique Small Change, Big Difference scheme, where each year customers donate their pence interest from their accounts to be used for charitable donations.
Jan Haddleton, manager of Yorkshire Building Society's branch in Tenby, said: "We were really pleased with the response from both our customers and members of the public, who were keen to nominate their favourite cause. This is the third Foundation Day we have held and the most successful so far - it's a great way of making sure smaller community groups are not overlooked when charitable donations are available."
