One of Tenby's local charities and community groups has received a welcome financial boost from the Yorkshire Building Society's Charitable Foundation. On its annual Foundation Day, the society encouraged members and the general public to nominate local good causes to share in its special charity donation. Tenby Air Training Corps Minibus Appeal was just one of over 260 good causes who received a share of the £33,695 donated by the Yorkshire's Charitable Foundation. The funds were raised through the Yorkshire Building Society's unique Small Change, Big Difference scheme, where each year customers of the society donate their pence interest, which is then used to support the charitable donations. Sian Cavey, manager at the Tenby branch, said: "We are delighted with the number of nominations we have received this year. The event gives our members the opportunity to decide where their money should go, and means we often get to support smaller charities or less well-known community groups as well as the larger ones." "This is our fourth annual Foundation Event and it has been a great success," she added. "Over 260 causes have been supported nationwide, which really demonstrates the society's commitment to the community."
