A group of builders have been hailed heroes after helping rescue a group of stranded pensioners.

Doris Seymour, who was celebrating her 89th birthday on Wednesday, was off to Tenby Day Centre to celebrate her birthday with friends and staff.

But sadly due to the snow, the minibus got stuck when driver Bert picked her up at her home in Garden Meadow Park, Tenby.

Fortunately, though, the Enzo’s Homes builders and workmen nearby saved the day and towed the minibus - with Doris and her friends on board cheering - to the main road, from where they were able to continue their journey.

“It really was great community spirit,” said Doris daughter Cora.

“The builders were very kind helping Bert get his passengers back on the road and we thank them very much.”
