PICTURED is budding journalist Gillian Roberts, who recently spent a week on work experience at the Observer.

Fifteen-year-old Gillian, a Year 10 pupil at Tenby's Greenhill School, spent the week shadowing reporters on various assignments and assisted the editorial department in the production of the 'paper.

Gillian, of Nyth Gwennol, Saundersfoot, is currently studying for her GCSEs and hopes to pursue a career in journalism.

Her father, Jeff, is manager of Lloyds Bank, Tenby, while her mother, Beverley, works in the Careers Office.

She has a younger sister, Frances, aged 11, who is a pupil at Saundersfoot School.

A talented musician, Gillian plays flute in both the Greenhill Orchestra and Concert Band and in her spare time enjoys creative writing.
