Local brothers Simon and Oliver Booth successfully climbed Mount Kenya at Christmas and in the process helped raise a considerable amount of money for local charities. They reached the summit at 6 am on Christmas Day. "It was hard work, but a fantastic experience," said Simon. Following the Asian tidal wave disaster, their company, Serendipity Holdings Limited, has agreed to match the amount Simon and Oliver raised and have donated it to the Tsunami Appeal. "The elation of climbing Mount Kenya was somewhat reduced when we belatedly found out about the tragic events of the tsunami," said Simon. "We have decided to match the generous sponsorship we received for the climb and donate an equal amount to the Tsunami Appeal.
