A very successful and enjoyable social evening was spent at Whitland Dairies Social Club on April 2. The local guitarist and vocalist, Huw Evans, of Laugharne, provided entertainment with his particular brand of country and Irish music. Colin Harries provided a beautiful fork supper and £957.75 was raised, which included a raffle organised by Des and Hillary Stephens, of Whitland. Many thanks go to all who attended for their loyal support, and to the Whitland Dairies Social Club for providing the perfect venue. The next event on the BHF calendar is the annual Charity Lunch in the marquee at Plas Hyfryd County Hotel, Narberth, on August 14, 12.30 for 1 pm. Tickets are already available and selling well and can be provided by Tom Thomas on 860220 at £12.50 for a three-course meal with light entertainment by local up-and-coming artists. The next meeting will be the AGM to be held at Freshfields, Cold Blow, on April 21, at 7.30 pm, courtesy of Mrs. Joan Whiterod. New members are very welcome to help in this most worthy cause. The Narberth Famous Fund Raisers are promoting a May Day Ball at the Queen's Hall, Narberth, on Saturday, April 30, starting at 6.45 pm. Tickets are available from Alison Mills on 861883. The cost is £25. This includes a Bucks Fizz reception, an auction, and entertainment provided by Mojo Band.
