Hundreds of local and family history enthusiasts from all over Pembrokeshire visited a Local Studies Fair at Haverfordwest Library last week.
The Fair was organised by Pembrokeshire County Council's information and cultural services department, and the Pembrokeshire Affiliation of Local History Societies.
The busy and enjoyable event was opened by one of the stars of the recent BBC Wales Coalhouse series, Debra Griffiths.
Debra Griffiths, a keen local history enthusiast herself, chatted to visitors to the Fair for most of the day with her husband Cerdin, and their three children, who also took part in the series.
The Women's Archive of Wales held a very successful roadshow, with visitors bringing many local treasures for them to examine, from old photographs to memorabilia and family documents. There were also a number of interesting deposits made.
Family history research workshops run by BBC Radio Wales genealogist Cat Whiteaway and the 'Look Up Your Genes' team were packed out, with all spaces booked up in advance. Participants were able to find out about the latest online resources to help with their research and also quiz the experts from the BBC.
Exhibitions from nearly a dozen of Pembrokeshire's Local History Societies from all over the county were particularly popular, with many new contacts being made.
Visitors could also learn more about the resources available at the Haverfordwest Reference and Local Studies Library, the County Records Office and the County Museum, from their various displays.
