If you don't mind small hills, you will find many satisfying country lanes which make cycling a joy in South Pembrokeshire. Your uphill pedalling will soon be rewarded with breathtaking views over the coast.
If you are travelling between Pembroke and Tenby, try using the Ridgeway, which runs from the Tenby side of Penally to the attractive village of Lamphey, with its inns and restaurants, parish church, railway station and the beautiful Bishop's Palace. On either side of the Ridgeway, small roads lead to other places of interest, such as Manorbier and St. Florence.
For a quiet link between Pembroke and Lamphey, take the Lower Lamphey Road, leading from Pembroke's Well Hill to just opposite Lamphey church. At the Tenby end, there is a road through Kiln Park caravan site which leads to Tenby golf course
Cycling from Tenby to Amroth is pleasant too. Follow the Celtic Trail signs up Slippery Back from the Norton. Two-hundred years ago this was the main route into Tenby! Celtic Trail signs lead you through New Hedges, down into Saundersfoot, and through to Coppet Hall Beach. The route to Wiseman's Bridge winds round by the cliffs on the old railway route. Remember to dismount before going through the dark tunnels.
Conveniences are on your right at the start of the short ride along Wiseman's Bridge sea-front. At the far end a right-hand turn leads to Summerhill; the next right follows a cliff top greenway to Amroth.
