A fundraising evening of the ‘breast in west’ recently took place with Whitland and District Male Choir organising a black tie (and pink) themed charity auction for charity.

The event was held at the Broadway Country House in Laugharne last month, in aid of Peony Suite Breast Unit, Prince Philip Hospital and the Chemo unit at Glangwilli.

The Charity Auction raised a magnificent £5,000 on the night from tickets, donations, raffle, the auction itself, and a donation from Helen and Dafydd Cox, of Glanmor Jerseys, from the sale of one of their calves.

The £2,700 raised from ‘Jayne’s afternoon tea’ in the the Summer will be added and the total will be split equally between the Peony Suite Breast Unit, Prince Philip Hospital and the Chemo unit at Glangwilli. It brings the total raised for Breast Cancer Care since March to £19,000.

A cheque presentation was made on the night to Breast Cancer Care Cymru from funds raised throughout the year by the Whitland Male Choir cycling team - Cor Meidion Hendygwyn.
