FOUR brave fund-raisers raised the magnificent sum of £618 for the RNIB on Sunday when they took part in a sponsored abseil. Neil Thomas, of Gumfreston, along with his daughter Katie, a lower sixth form pupil at Tenby's Greenhill School, Sue Groves from Saundersfoot and Helen John, of Carmarthen, took part in the abseil off the 75-foot high Pontrhydyfen viaduct, which towers over the village in West Glamorgan, where Richard Burton, the famous actor, was born. "None of us had abseiled before, but we all thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to the next one," said Neil afterwards.
