Fitness training for the swim started much earlier this year and while both ladies are now almost 100 per cent physically fit, their fear of jelly fish will be a mental hurdle to be faced on the day.
"Whilst I have swum amongst jelly fish, their presence is never welcome," commented Chris. "I did not, however, expect to be chased by seals, which was the case while swimming off the coast last weekend!"
Chris and Carol face a challenging swim - approximately two-and-threequarter miles long and expected to take two hours - across perilous currents, whilst covered in layers of grease to maintain body temperature.
Anyone wishing to support these brave mums who intend to undertake the swim before the end of July can do so by sending a donation to Narberth or Templeton School or by contacting June Howells on 01834 860247 for further information.
