Whitland has been rocked by the closure of a £1 million distribution centre.

The town's Brains depot shut on Friday following a change to the structure of the business. Three other depots in Wales have also closed.

Although sales staff have been kept on temporarily, all the warehousemen have lost their jobs. Jobs in Swansea and Cardiff have been offered to some of the technical staff.

All of the drivers have been made redundant, although offered employment in Swansea.

As we were going to press yesterday (Thursday), we were awaiting a comment from the company.
