Concerns over 'boy racers' using Tenby's multi- storey car park as a racing track have been raised by local residents. The issue was discussed at Tuesday night's meeting of the town council, when Clr. Nicky Lloyd revealed that he had received reports from residents living in Trafalgar Road and Queens Parade, who had frequently heard the sound of 'screeching' cars coming from the multi-storey late at night. "The residents have reported on a number of occasions extreme disturbances coming from the multi-storey, where cars appear to be racing around, with sounds of screeching and braking heard sometimes as late as 12.30 am," said Clr. Lloyd. "I was also most disturbed to hear that one of the persons who reported the matter to local police, was advised on the 'phone to bring the matter to the town council," he added. Clr. Mrs. Caroline Thomas suggested that the council write to the town's police inspector, asking if the area could be monitored more closely. Local police officers launched a major crackdown on 'boy racers' in the town back in February when youths were caught speeding in Park Road.
