A quartet of 'chamber maids' have been thanked for their work in helping Saundersfoot to stage a number of successful events.

Lilian Lang, Madge Wills, Hazel Caine and Vicky Goodwin were original members of Saundersfoot Chamber for Tourism when it was set up 13 years ago.

"Their loyalty, commitment and friendship were instrumental in the Chamber being able to go forward with confidence and set up its Christmas and St. David's Day food and craft festivals, which have gone on to become major events in the life of the village," said former Chamber chair, Andrew Evans, of the St. Bride's Spa Hotel, Saundersfoot.

Chamber members and guests enjoyed a fish and chip supper at the Mermaid on Sunday, when chairman Phil Odley presented flowers to the four ladies and commemorative cawl bowls to Lilian, Madge and Hazel. The bowls were commissioned from potter Mark Walford, of Hilton Court, near Roch, who makes the bowls for the cawl trail which takes place during the two-day St. David's Food and Craft Festival on Saturday, March 2, and Sunday, March 3.
