neyland

st. clements 17

This was the last game of the Meyrick Owen season for Goscar against their closest rivals, St. Clements.

This strong side from Neyland were the better side on the day, getting off to a good start to lead 14-6 at the break.

Goscar seemed to play better after tea, but they had left too large a deficit to pull back.

However, despite this result going against them, they still won the Meyrick Owen Shield by one point.

Congratulations to all the players who played for Goscar this season, regaining the shield which they won back in 2008.

Goscar players this year were Ray Hine (capt), Harold Ebdon (skip), Brian Winstone, Jim Taylor, Ted Brutnell, David Rees, Gwyn Beynon and Eamonn Maher.
