A scorching hot spring day and lightning fast green greeted the St. Katherines team from Milford. The Five Arches team were hoping to continue the fine form shown in the previous match against the Borderers.
Clive, Steve, Mike and Aaron on rink two in front of the crowd on the balcony played sunshine bowls and steadily accumulated shots throughout the afternoon.
They won 14 of the 21 ends and ran away clear winners by 31 shots to 11. Lee and his rink of Ken, Ben and Ray were once again on the tricky rink three and once again proved their mastery of a difficult playing surface.
They were never behind and finished with a 26 shots to 15 victory.
Rink four saw Tony, Roy, John and Cameron have a remarkable start, picking up seven on the first end, and were 11-0 up after four ends.
However, a spirited fightback by the St. Katherines quartet ensured this game went to the wire. The Five Arches players responded well to this challenge and eased to a 19-15 victory.
Ashley, Gwyn, Tony and Dai out on rink five also had a fine start, 16-1 up after eight ends. St. Katherines fought back to win five ends in a row, but a good finish allowed the Five Arches rink to win comfortably by 29 shots to 10.
A comprehensive victory on a wonderful sunny day, what more can you ask for?
Next match is in the Brains Cup, away to Pembroke Dock Mariners, on Wednesday, June 2.
