It is that time of year again, with members, social and full, reminded that subscriptions are now due.   Thursday, January 3: top score - Muriel Griffiths 179; 1st lady - Mair Marquiss 162; 2nd lady - Pauline Barnikel 158; 1st gent - Joyce Waters 178; 2nd gent - Marnie Owens 169; first half winner - Bert Barnikel 78; second half - Gladys Cleaton 77; lowest score - Elsie Breadnam 152; raffle winners - Bert Barnikel and Mair Marquiss.   Saturday, January 5: top score - Pauline Barnikel 172; 1st lady - Mary Renowden 171; 2nd lady - Gladys Cleaton 155; 1st gent - Joyce Waters 166;  2nd gent - Muriel Griffiths; raffle winners - Joyce Waters and Gladys Cleaton. Bowling Club whist is played twice weekly in Sutton Street - Thursday at 7 pm and Saturday at 2 pm. Visitors and new members are all very welcome. Don't be lonely any more, come and join in the fun.

Terry

The club, and the community, were dealt a massive blow last week when we heard that Terry Preston had died. He was one of the most popular members, and well liked by all. One of his greatest achievements came during his first year in the game, when he not only won the 'rabbits' cup, but the club championship as well - a feat unlikely to be equalled ever again. Terry won many trophies during his bowling career; he also represented the county on numerous occasions and later played for the county senior side. He took his coaches badge and was instrumental in assisting in the development of the school coaching sessions which are run by the club during the summer term. Terry loved his bowls and was a hard, but fair competitor; he was always appreciative and supportive of his team members and gracious to his opponents. Over the past few seasons, he was also a selector for the Tenby side. If there was an award for the best dressed male member of the club, TP would have won it hands down. He was always immaculately turned out when going on the green. To Gwyneth and all the family, we extend our heartfelt sympathy and this comes overwhelmingly from all the club, and I know the community. Bonus ball
