Lockers
There are a number of lockers available for any new and existing members. Please contact the club, which is open Monday and Thursday mornings between 10 am and noon, Sunday from 12 noon, or any evening from 7 pm onwards. These are available to gents, ladies and juniors. Quiz Night
Our own, Jeremy Paxman, in the shape of Lee Richards, will be setting the questions for a quiz in aid of the RNLI. This will be held on Thursday, March 30, starting at 7.30 pm. If the first one is anything to go by, you need to get there in plenty of time as the place was packed. I think there was more there than at the Wales v Italy rugby match, and at least there was no booing! Open Meeting
This will be held on Friday, March 31, at 7.30 pm. It will take the form of an introductory meeting for new members, and the new format for team selection for both league and friendlies will be introduced. New systems that have been put in place over the winter months will be explained, and anything for the good of the club will be discussed and hopefully addressed. It will be a nice time to meet up with friends that you have not seen all winter, and find out if they have been deliberately avoiding you! Junior Training
This will take place on Thursday evenings, times to be arranged, under the tutelage of Dave Robb, assisted by Tony Shaw. Both these are new members to the club this year, but have been involved in the coaching set-up for many years. The local Catholic School is also being contacted so that interested juniors can be taught the game. I expect we will be inundated with children, eager to play, rather than be stuck in school learning maths or English, especially on a nice day! Maintenance
You can tell the season is nearly on us, as the crew put the benches surrounding the green back in place this week. The front and back of the main building has now been painted, and the job of clearing out all the winter's building and painting materials is now in hand and the main pavilion, instead of looking like a workshop, is slowly resembling its proper use. Hope the ladies can ease Reg Thake out from the kitchen, as we think he has taken root there over the winter. They will have a lot to live up to after the great cups of 'Rosie Lee' he has made over the past months!
Bonus ball
Lucky winners this week were Christmas and ESD, alias Eric Dorling. What does the S stand for? Sydney, Stephano, Sibelius or Stanley? I will ask Eric and see if he is forthcoming about it. Whist

Marathon Man
He's at it again. Who? Dai Spencer, who else. First along with Ashley Hooper he runs 20 miles in the Rhayader, around the lakes and mountains of mid Wales, and then he is bound for Rotterdam for the Dutch Marathon, all in aid of the Wales Air Ambulance. There is a list up in the clubhouse if you would like to sponsor Dai. Ask him nicely and he may bring you back a pair of clogs or a miniature windmill!
