BONUS BALL
"Keep it in the family," said president Ben Owens, after he had won last week's prize, and that is exactly what wife Marnie did by scooping Saturday's bonus ball. The Wednesday prize is now a huge £180-plus. It is unlikely it will reach this figure again, as organiser Lyn Deli has now a waiting list for inclusion, as soon as the money is claimed.
MAINTENANCE GANG
This hardy bunch of soles gingerly started back this week, to be met by treasurer Ted Brutnell and his stock-taking friends; also putting in appearances were chairman Dai King Thomas and Dai Rees. It almost seemed as if the season had started. Won't be long now, though. I hope you are all adhering to the training programmes as laid down by the captains. Keeping up with the weight training, running and diets! The last one being the most important!
Book worms
Reg Thake, the club's book-keeper, has had a good selection of new reading material in his collection at the club. Thanks to the generosity of Graham Hill and Sam McNeilly, he also has a wide selection of videos for hire. These include films, documentaries and travel. The hiring out of these makes a good monetary contribution to the club.
COFFEE MORNING
The first one for this year will be on Saturday, January 28, starting 10 am. There will be the usual bric a brac, cake stall etc. More publicity later.
