TENBY 82 (12)
MILFORD 64 (2)
The Jones and Jones Tenby team travelled to Milford last Sunday, having beaten them comfortably at home the previous week.
Milford, however, has always been a difficult place to win in recent years, and, although Saundersfoot had been crowned champions, the runners-up spot was still up for grabs.
On rink two, Bert Barnikel, Alan Redman, Peter Day and Pat Currie made a good start and, with Alan in superb form and Patrick playing some telling shots, the rink won by 10, 11-21.
Next door, it was business as usual as Paul Mearns, Terry Preston, John Baggott and Paul Diment led throughout the game to record a 22-16 win.
Dave King Thomas, Dave Morgan, John Webb and skip Andrew Muskett started well and led 13-6 at one stage, before slowly being pegged back, and despite a brilliant Muskie bowl to make four on the 19th end, they were eventually overhauled 20-22.
Ian Badham, Ben Owens, Simon Evans and Sparky made a slow start, but steady bowling by the front two and with Simon playing well, Sparky guided his rink to a four-shot win, 19-15.
This was a good win on a heavy and tricky green and with just two games left, second position seems likely for the team.
STENA FIVE ARCHES 48 PEMBROKE DOCK 94
Their last home game of the season saw the Stena sponsored Five Arches lose heavily to a very competent Pembroke Dock side.
With a couple of withdrawals, the home side had to make two late changes, but this was still no excuse for a lacklustre performance by the Arches.
Every member of captain Ray Holly's rink played very well, but it so happened that Harry Hanger and his men decided to have one of those games when everything they did came off. There were no complaints from Ray's rink, as on a normal day they would have come away with the spoils.
It's a hard game sometimes! Certainly the 17-shot difference did not reflect on the performance of the home rink.
A strong mid game run of 11 shots, including a six, saw Mike and his crew home by six. Although gelling and working for each other, the rink did not perform as well as of late against likeable Jimmy Williams, deputising as skip for the Pater side.
Only scoring on five ends, Roy Powling and his quartet were always up against it, with the visitors piling up 21 shots without reply. Gwyn Beynon battled hard throughout.
Jim Taylor was the pick of Sam McNeilly's rink as they came up against a strong Les Davies rink. Les is still one of the top skips in the county and he displayed all his skills in their 12-shot victory.
The Arches travel to Neyland for their last game of the season, hoping to reach the magical 100 points in their first season back in the premier division.
Rink scores (Arches first, Pembroke Dock skips only):
P. Watkins, J. Taylor, G. Crawford, S. McNeilly 10; L. Davies 22.

R. Hurlow, J. Best, K. Hubbard, R. Holly 10; H. Hanger 27.
GOSCAR 60
ST. CATHERINES 91
On Wednesday of last week, Goscar played their last game in the Brewers Cup. Last time at Milford Haven we came back without a single point, but with good bowling on Lewis Hilling's rink we gained two points and with a little bit of luck on Bill Bailey's rink, we could have had four.
Our last league game is at Pembroke Dock on September 1, so keep practising lads.
Rink scores (Goscar first, St. Caths skips only):
D. Watkins, J. Lester, E. Dorling, J. Hubbard 10; A. Robson 34.
S. Hinton, G. Stubbs, A. Grimbaldeston, J. Taylor 11; T. John 20.
A. Ormond, A. Fursse, K. Delabertouche, L. Hilling 24; D. Joyce 16.
A. Kelly, J. King, R. Thake, B. Bailey 15; P. Harries 21.
