A local man appeared in court this week, even though he was the victim of an assault which led to him being arrested.
Twenty-year-old Luke Michael Thomas was said to have been punched on the nose after he was refused entry to see his mother who was working at the Stage Door public house in Tenby last Tuesday night because he was drunk.
Police subsequently saw Thomas, c/o 13 Heywood Court, Tenby, being restrained by a female after he had been involved in the altercation.
His face was bleeding and he had a cut to the nose, Mr. David Weale, for the Crown Prosecution Service, told magistrates sitting in the town on Tuesday.
Thomas was advised to calm down, but he was "very irate" and was using "strong and abusive language."
Representing Thomas, Mr. Jonathan Webb told the bench that his client had only gone to the premises to see his mother.
"It is sad that he has to come to court to be bound over, especially as he was the victim of assault," he said.
As a result, Thomas had been asked to make a complaint to the police about the matter.
Thomas was bound over to keep the peace in the sum of £100 for 12 months and an initial charge of causing harassment, alarm or distress was subsequently withdrawn by the prosecution.
