Pembrokeshire Cancer Support has been given a major boost thanks to a donation of £1,000 from Barclays. The money is going towards upgrading the charity's computer facilities. Jean King, community relations officer, said: "At Barclays we are committed to looking after local communities and we are delighted to support Pembrokeshire Cancer Support.   This is a great opportunity for us to help make a real and lasting difference by supporting a range of causes from local schools to centres for older people." The charity, which has a support centre at 91 Queen Street, Pembroke Dock, helps people who have or who have had cancer, their families and friends by supporting each other and working through the fear and possible stigma that can be associated with cancer. Lyn Neville, co-ordinator and fund-raiser for the charity (pictured), said: "We are delighted with this donation from Barclays which will enable us to reach more people in need and move forward with a website to promote our services across the local community." The funds are from Barclays  Community Investment Programme, which in 2007 donated £52.4 million.
