FOLLOWING the success of last year's Tenby ARts Festival Book Fair, local authors will once again gather in the Church Hall, St. Mary's Church, tomorrow (Saturday) between 11 am and 1.30 pm to offer an eclectic selection of books to inspire even the most reluctant bookworm. Relax, sit back, with a tea or coffee, and listen to them chat about their writing and their books. Authors presenting their work will be: Phil Carradice, who has just published his 50th book. He broadcasts regularly on BBC Wales, Radio 3 and 4, and makes occasional appearances on The One Show - although, as he says, 'he knows he has a great face for radio.' Roger MacCallum, a former pupil of Bush School in Pembroke. On retirement, and after renewing his acquaintance with Phil Carradice, they produced Pembroke Dock Through Time for Amberley Publishing. They have just published a sequel to this entitled Pembroke Dock 1814-2014. Thorne Moore, who lives in North Pembrokeshire, where her books are partly set. A Time For Silence, finalist for the People's Book Prize 2013, was published by Honno in 2012. Motherlove, a story of the relationship between three mothers and two daughters who are worlds apart, will be published in February 2015. Colin R. Parsons, a children's/YA fiction author from the Rhondda Valley in South Wales. He has written eight books in the genres of: Sci-fi-Fantasy-Steampunk and the Supernatural. He is also connected to Authors Abroad, a company that is linked with schools up and down the UK, and overseas. Sally Spedding, who was born in Porthcawl. She is the author of seven crime chillers and Strangers Waiting, collection of short stories. She is also an award-winning poet. 'How To write a Chiller Thriller' is out now. Judith Barrow, the author of Pattern of Shadows and Changing Patterns, both published by Honno. She has just completed the last book of the trilogy, due out in July 2015. Also an Indie author, she has written Silent Trauma, a novel of fiction built on fact. She also works as a tutor of creative writing for Learning Pembrokeshire. Sharon Tregenza, a children's author specialising in Middle Grade mystery. Her debut novel, Tarantula Tide, won the Kelpies Prize and the Heart of Hawick award and was published by Floris Books. Her latest book, The Shiver Stone, is set in Pembrokeshire and is published by Firefly Press. Alex Martin, the author of The Twisted Vine, a suspenseful romance set in sun-drenched French vineyards in the 1980s, and Daffodils, set during the First World War. A sequel to Daffodils is currently being written and a third book is planned to complete the trilogy. Josephine Hammond, a teacher, linguist and writer based in Pembrokeshire. Her first book, Battle in Iraq, was published in 2009, since then she has published a second book, Adelina Patti, Queen of Song, as an e-book. She is currently working on a book about women explorers of the Middle East and North Africa. Guy Manning, a Pembrokeshire-based artist who has lived and worked in the Tenby area for 30 years. His landscapes have been shown in New York, Germany and across the UK. As well as being a professional artist, Guy is also an art teacher.
