Dyfed Powys Police have now completed their examination of human remains recently recovered from the Natural Gas Pipeline site at St. Clears.

A Home Office pathologist, working with a forensic anthropologist, has been able to confirm that the human remains are former anatomical specimens used in the medical profession. They were likely to have been used by a medical practitioner or student some time during the 1940s and may have been deposited with rubbish at the site.

"The remains are not connected with any criminal activity, but we would be interested in establishing their origins," said a police spokesman.

"We would like to thank members of the public and the media for assisting in bringing this puzzle to a satisfactory conclusion," the spokesman added.
