As we were going to press yesterday (Thursday), police had still to confirm the identity of an elderly man whose body was found on rocks below Tenby's North Cliff on Wednesday afternoon.

Tenby inshore lifeboat and the town's Auxiliary Coastguard were called in to assist police in recovering the body which was discovered at approximately 12.48 pm in the second bay between Second Point and Bowman's Point

Due to the difficult location, the Dyfed-Powys Police helicopter was also called in to help in the operation.

Police are fully investigating the death and appeal for any witnesses who may have seen an elderly man at North Cliff to contact them at Tenby police station on (01834) 842303.
