A successful inshore lifeboat pull has hauled in the magnificent sum of £700 for the RNLI Tenby Station branch.
Organised by Jeffreyston Inn Boat Owners Club, the pull, of an exhibition model boat, was undertaken by a 15-strong team of residents of the Jeffreyston area who pulled and pushed the boat from Saundersfoot back to the village where they were treated to a real heroes welcome by all those attending a family fun day at the Jeffreyston Inn.
As well as individual sponsorship collected by the 'pullers', the collection was swelled by a bucket collection along the route and the proceeds of the fun day.
The Boat Owners Club would like to express their many thanks to all their supporters and pullers who took part in the lifeboat pull which was held to co-incided with the recent RNLI Day.
Thanks are also extended to main sponsors Saxton Safety, of Steynton who provided T-shirts and a safety vehicle, B.F. O'Neill Roofing, of Saundersfoot, A. and M. Builders, Jeffreyston, Jeff Cabs, also of Jeffreyston, Dave Brace, turf accountant of Saundersfoot, Mrs. Rennie Baskerville, of Jeffreyston and Tony and Sue Davies, of the Jeffreyston Inn for the use of their facilities and tremendous support.
"An excellent day was had by all and we were delighted with the final figure of £700 being raised for the RNLI Tenby branch," commented club secretary, Ian Evans.
