Anyone who wants to be among the first wave of Bluestone recruits has until January 28 to get their applications in. Over 600 people have already applied for a position at Pembrokeshire's new short-break destination, set to open this summer. But if you are keen to be part of Bluestone, then you need to hurry, as only applicants who return forms before January 28 will be considered for the first series of assessment days. Bluestone's director of human resources, Debbie Rainbow, said: "The assessment days will take place at the Pembrokeshire Technium at Pembroke Dock, beginning on February 4 and running through to February 22. There'll be one Monday to Thursday each week, so 12 in all, with each one lasting from 9.30 am to 1.30 pm. "No-one need be nervous about attending these assessment days. They are informal and enjoyable ways for us to find out more about you, and how you interact with other people, than we would in a conventional interview. "There'll also be problem-solving exercises, and familiarisation sessions for people to find out more about Bluestone. The assessment days will be fun, and we're sure people will get a lot out of them." Debbie added: "We also have a number of assessment days specifically earmarked for the long-term unemployed, the first of which will be on Thursday January 31. People who fall into this category may also be able to get a little help with the application process from Jobcentre Plus, who can be contacted on 01646 483431." Bluestone will need 400 staff in all kinds of roles, ready for the June opening. A further 300 staff will be required within two years.
