A request by the organisers of the Tenby Blues Festival for grant money to help towards funding of this year's event, has been deferred by the town council.

Members discussed the matter at their meeting on Tuesday night, but decided to defer the application as it had not followed the council's correct policy procedure, there being no financial balance sheet included with the documentation and the form had not been signed.

In light of the De Valence Pavilion being re-opened for bookings by the town council, with a new Trust in the process of being formed, the organisers of the festival have written to the town council with a view to hiring the facility for the event, which will run later this year from November 11 to 13.

Clr. Mrs. Christine Brown felt it was in the best interests of the town for the council and new De Valence Trust to support the festival in any way possible, as it brought a lot of people into Tenby out of season and was a worthwhile event for the community.
