Plaid AM Nerys Evans has welcomed the announcement that Pendine is the latest beach in Wales to awarded a Blue Flag for cleanliness and environmental sustainability. The Carmarthen based AM commented: "I welcome the fact that Pendine sands have been awarded a prestigious Blue Flag by Keep Wales Tidy. "These awards require beaches to satisfy criteria on water cleanliness and good litter control. We are now approaching the busy summer season this announcement is excellent news for Carmarthen's tourism industry and the economy in general. "This announcement shows that Carmarthenshire is providing good quality facilities for visitors and local residents alike."
