On Friday, May 21, the Blue Ball Restaurant, Tenby, hosted a charity night in aid of OUCH.
Their main aim was to both raise much needed funds and also, just as importantly, raise awareness for the charity and of the Cluster headache condition.
Debbie Neale, one of the owners of the Blue Ball, has a nephew, Liam, who suffers from these awful, debilitating headaches.
With the help and support of OUCH, and especially Val Hobbs, who happens to live in Carew, the family have come to learn and understand the condition more - something invaluable, especially before Liam was properly diagnosed by doctors in Great Ormond Street.
Blue Ball is delighted to announce that the evening raised a whopping £1,920 for the charity! That's nearly double the original £1,000 they first set as a target.
Of course, this wouldn't have been possible at all without the help of friends, family and all the businesses that either supply or support the Blue Ball.
The generosity of customers was amazing on the night as they raised over £200 on the raffle alone!
Supporters enjoyed a fantastic meal, all of which was kindly sponsored or donated. This meant that from each ticket, the whole £25 per person went to the charity.
Blue Ball would especially like to thank the following for their most generous gifts and help: Kathryn Palin, of HSBC Tenby, who secured a whopping £500 from HSBC by supporting them on the night; Martin and Karen, of Chandler Rogers Estate Agents; Dominic Subbiani, of FBM; Andrew Rees Butchers, Narberth; Tenby Seafayre... there are too many to name, but the organisers were totally bowled over by the generosity of customers and the businesses in Tenby, who either donated a raffle prize or sponsored one.
