After Tenby took it’s 30th Wales in Bloom title, the chairman of the town’s In Bloom team has thanked everyone for their help.

At a results ceremony held at Wolfscastle Country Hotel recently, it was announced that Tenby took top place in the new ‘coastal resort up to 12,000’ category that it was placed in, with a silver gilt.

“Every year we’re getting better and better and closer to that gold,” chairman of Tenby in Bloom, Clr. Mrs. Sue Lane, the Deputy Mayor, told her colleagues at Tuesday night’s meeting of the town council.

Clr. Mrs. Lane praised the partnership of the Tenby in Bloom team working with the town council and Pembrokeshire County Council, along with the “tremendous support” from the beautification team, volunteers and organisations such as the Lions, Rotary and Kiln Park who had helped.

“I can’t thank everyone who has contributed enough,” she continued.

Clr. Mike Evans offered his congratulations on picking up yet another Wales in Bloom title for the town.

“You’re making it harder work every year for yourselves, as the town is looking so good all year round, how on earth are you going to achieve such exceptional results again next year!” he commented.

“It’s been a privilege to see the results this year, and just standing on Castle Beach today looking at the gardens above in full bloom when it’s nearly October, it really is stunning and the gardens are a real credit,” added Clr. Evans.
