The 'Narberth rejects' have clinched the Pembrokeshire five-a-side league, held at the Bloomfield Community Centre, Narberth.

Looking nothing like their name suggests, they played some terrific football to top the league with an unblemished record of 22 consecutive wins, a feat never to have been achieved before.

In the runners-up spot were last season's winners, the 'Sumo Warriors', who, apart from dropping points to the 'Rejects', beat every other team in the league.

The next league running from March to July is already fully subscribed. However, teams are being invited to sign up for the league commencing September 2. If there are any interested teams out there please contact Nigel Phillips on (01834 860293).

The league is run by Leisure Leagues who specialise in running football leagues nationwide.

The five-a-side teams play an intense half-an-hour game each week. All standards of team are welcome, even those who have not considered playing before.

Each game is refereed, all equipment is supplied and there is no need for matching kits. Seasons usually run for between 18 and 21 weeks, with trophies being presented to the winners and runners-up.
