Tenby in Bloom organisers have identified a number of areas in the town that could do with a 'blooming' spot of sprucing up.
Mayor, Clr. Mrs. Sue Lane who is also chairman of the Tenby in Bloom committee, told her colleagues at Tuesday night's meeting of the town council that the organisation was looking to fund some shrub planting in the town.
Along with the help of Pembrokeshire County Council's maintenance team, they had been pinpointing some locations for sustainable shrub planting.
"We've been looking at planting shrubs at a host of places, such as the bottom of Lady Park where the Welcome to Tenby sign is, some around The Maudlins, and also the entrance to the cemetery," said Clr. Mrs. Lane.
County council were also said to be looking at other areas where local schoolchildren could paint murals, similar to one completed in the Rotary Gardens on Castle Hill.
The Mayor also congratulated Tenby Junior School on winning the daffodil planting display competition again this year, which is held in honour of former Mayor of the town, the late Denzil Griffiths.
Meanwhile, after writing to Sutton Seeds, the Mayor revealed that the company had kindly agreed to provide packets of seeds for free for local children to contribute to the Tenby in Bloom event.
