Once again there was a high standard of entries in the annual Saundersfoot in Bloom competition. The presentation of prizes took place on Wednesday night at the St. Brides Hotel, with winners being as follows:

PRIVATE HOUSES

Best garden visible from the road: 1. The Patel Cup - Mr. and Mrs. Terry Lewis, 13 Hean Close; 2. The Hayes Shield - Mr. and Mrs. J. Archer, 11 Bevelin Hall.

Best forecourt without garden: The O'Connor Cup - Mrs. Joan Parry, 49 Pennant Avenue.

Best display window boxes, tubs and hanging baskets: The Saundersfoot in Bloom Shield - Mr. and Mrs. R. Preece, The Beeches, Stammers Road.

Best senior citizens garden: The RAOB Shield - 1. Mr. Allen Brace, Caroldene; 2. Mr. and Mrs. Terry Hunt, 16 Pennant Avenue.

Best garden not visible from the road: The Penry Thoms rose bowl - 1. Mr. and Mrs. Clark, 55 Pennant Avenue; 2. Mr. and Mrs D. Jones, Sunny Nook, Church Terrace.

Best garden: The Mrs. Anne Thomas Trophy - 1. The Old Chemist Inn; 2. R. S. Brabon, Jason Lodge Guest House.

Best premises with window boxes and hanging baskets: The Shrublands Shield - Sunny Vale caravan site.

Best overall display visible from the road: Ronowitz Shield - 1. Kate Lewis, Wogan Guest House; 2. Dianne Cotton, Jubilee Guest House.

Best schools, clubs etc: Saundersfoot School.

Best group: 1. 1, 2 and 13 Hean Close; 2. 49, 50 and 51 Pennant Avenue.

Best overall commercial property: The Saundersfoot Bay Leisure Park Trophy - The Old Chemist Inn.

Chairman of Saundersfoot in Bloom, Mr. Keith Williams, thanked Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Evans for the use of the St. Brides Hotel. He also thanked Mrs. Valerie Paley, Mr. Alwyn James and their president, Mr. Duncan Hilling, for acting as judges, they had a very difficult task.

This year there were some new entries and the thanks of the committee go to all entrants, winners and non winners. Please enter again next year.
