The Mayor of Pembroke Dock has praised a group of fundraising bikers for their charity work.

Last Thursday, Pembrokeshire-based Blood Bikers were invited to attend an interview at the Showboat TV in Llanion, Pembroke Dock, with members Phil Harries and Terry Morris attending, along with Mayor, Clr. Peter Kraus.

The reason for the interview was to raise the profile of their team and also to explain what the Blood Bikers do and how they operate.

“The Blood Bikers have to firstly go through vigorous training before being accepted and then do what they do best, which is delivering live blood, breast milk and anything that is needed to save a person’s life,” explained Clr. Kraus.

“Remember these bikers are doing this special service voluntary and in their own time as and when required, and as we all know, bikes are very expensive to buy and run, and they supply these themselves.”

The bikes cannot have anymore than 80,000 miles on the clock before they have to be replaced for a lower mileage one, so Clr. Kraus is hoping that the people of Pembrokeshire can help this worthwhile cause.

“We need to get more bikes in our county to cover the whole area, so if you have any fundraising ideas, whatever it may be, big or small, birthday anniversary or event, please contact the Blood Bikers at www.bloodbikeswaales.org.uk

“These guys save lives and they need our help. Together we can do it, we must do it,” he added.
