After training hard for over six months, brothers Rhys and Huw Owens from Pembroke Dock successfully past their karate black belt grading on Friday, July 31.

Rhys (17) and Huw (14), gained their black belts at Llandeilo under examination from Sensei Chico Mbakwe 7th Dan, chief instructor of the Welsh Shotokan Karate Union and one of the most experienced and respected karate instructors in Wales.

Other successful students were Conor Lloyd (2nd brown belt), Sharon Lloyd (green belt), Rachel Williams (yellow belt), Simon Newton (yellow belt), William Jeffery (red belt) and Michael Groves (red belt).

The clubs welcome new and advanced students and classes are at Penally Village Hall every Tuesday, 6.30 - 8.30, and Pennar Community School every Sunday, 10 am - 12 noon. The first lesson is free!
