THE Noah's Ark Appeal to build the first children's hospital in Wales received a boost this week thanks to a former Pembrokeshire woman.

To celebrate her 50th birthday, Janine Armour, who grew up in St. Florence, decided to walk the 186 miles of the Pembrokeshire Coast Path.

Furthermore, istead of receiving presents for her big day, she asked family and friends to make donations to the appeal.

In additon, she also invited friends to join her on the walk - or else pay a fine!

As a result, Janine, who now lives in Oxfordshire, raised £700 for the charity which she was delighted to present to vice-chairman of the Pembrokeshire Appeal Fund, Brian Harries, on Friday.

Accompanied by friends and family on various stages, Janine took 13 consecutive days to complete the walk and for those who were not able to join her, she kept them updated on her progress via her website http://www.janswalk.co.uk">www.janswalk.co.uk, which is still available to view.
