Pembrokeshire Craft Maker Lynn Llewelyn Davies, of Dale, is celebrating her 90th birthday with an exhibition of her work at Out of the Blue, 2 St. James Street, Narberth, the shop gallery that sells the art and craftwork by local craft makers.
Lynn is primarily a watercolour artist and is fascinated by the beautiful Pembrokeshire skies and her use of water and the pigment give a depth as well as a glow to her works which depict views of the county.
Lynn was born in North Wales and has spent most of her life in Pembrokeshire where her husband's work brought the family. Living in both Haverfordwest and Dale, Lynn and her family enjoyed the beaches and sailing our coasts.
About 20 years ago, Lynn took up watercolour painting and she attributes much of her direction to the enthusiasm of two of her former tutors David Tress and Ann Whalley.
To celebrate Lynn's birthday, Pembrokeshire Craft Makers Out of the Blue Gallery is featuring an exhibition of Lynn's work for a month with a special open afternoon on Saturday, May 9, when there will be the opportunity to speak to Lynn about her work, as well as other members of the Pembrokeshire Craft Makers.
The Out of the Blue Gallery is open Monday to Saturday, 10 am - 5 pm, throughout the year.
The craft makers also now have their work on display in the gallery at Colby Woodland Gardens during the summer months which is open daily, as well as many exhibitions of their work in venues at Dale, Newport and St. David's.
