The Pembrokeshire Fundraising Branch of Guide Dogs Cymru has recently benefited from donations instead of birthday presents, when Guide Dog Owner, Veronica Prescott Owen, recently celebrated a milestone birthday with afternoon tea for family and friends at Plas Hyfryd, Narberth.

Instead of presents Veronica had asked for donations in aid of Guide dogs in memory of her first guide dog Clare, who sadly had to be put to sleep last November aged 14, and last Monday, Pembrokeshire Branch Secretary, Eva rich, accepted a bucket which contained £275 in memory of Claire.

Veronica now has her current guide dog, Tarka, who is shown in the photograph with Veronica, Eva and her guide dog Oyster, and a photograph of the very fondly remembered Clare.

Veronica and Tarka also recently paid a visit to Narberth Community Primary School, where they talked to the reception class and year 1 about the work Tarka does taking care of Veronica when she is out and about. Sincere thanks to Mr. Ben Kirk and the pupils and staff for the generous donation of £53.

The Pembrokeshire Branch members say a huge thank you to Veronica and her husband Colin, and to Narberth Primary School for their kind donation.
