This is the first report of the season for Kilgetty Ladies,
a new team formed under the guidance of Gerry Rigby
and superbly captained by Carrie Slack. The team has
gone from strength to strength and each week gains a
little more experience and fitness level. There is a great
team spirit and everyone enjoys the games. On
Sunday, Kilgetty played Clarbeston Road. Kilgetty were
straight in, putting their opponents under pressure,
with fancy footwork and a number of goals. Excellent
runs from the forwards Stacey, Cally and Bethan saw
plenty of goals. The players in defence, Carrie, Katie B,
Audrey and Kristen, were strong when needed, and
Sadie, Kirsty and Meld as forwards did a great job, as
did Alice in goal. There was excellent passing between
the players, also great headers, especially from Meld,
who kept the ball in the air five times. Goals scorers
were: Stacey (8), Bethan (3), Carrie (2), Meld, Kristen (2)
Sadie and one own goal. Thanks to the subs who came
on and really kick- started the second half - Amie,
Katie Lee, Liz and Jolene, going wherever they were
needed and doing a great job. Thank you to Chris for
his support and guidance, Katie Lee for the cakes, Cally
for the kit and Katie B. for the oranges. Team: Alice
