The second open meeting of the Tenby Walled Town Residents Association was held at the De Valence cafe on Monday evening, when far more people than anticipated attended.

The committee apologise for the lack of space and at the same time thank Mim for making them welcome.

As more and more residents are joining the TWTRA, a bigger venue will be organised for the next meeting, due to be held on September 9.

The presence of AM, Christine Gwyther, was appreciated.

Members are reminded to make their comments in writing at either the De Valence or the Dainty. Survey forms, Ombudsman maladministration forms, and forms to have your homes 'rebanded' are also all available at the Dainty.

Matters discussed included:

• Views from people of Caldey Island (who have joined the association).

• One-way in White Lion Street (its affect on trading and the lifeboat crew).

• Damage being caused to trade by the experiment.

• Traffic management in general (this will be discussed at a later date when all the data from the survey is available).

• Ten mile an hour speed limit at all times (this was adopted by the meeting as a resolution).

• Residents and their responsible use of cars.

• Car parking for residents (the possibility of residents parking).

• Harbour car parking.

• The unhelpful nature of the help line.

• A more flexible attitude to permits for leaving town.

• The Summer Spectacular (the sensible relaxation of the rules on that occasion).

• Feelgood v Frustration (caused by the experiment).

• National Park's bigger agenda.

• Litter (the lack of response by the emergency help line).

• Trade refuce (the need for Saturday collection?).

• Household refuse collection (the need for more care in the handling methods of the operators).

• Anti-social behaviour.

• The Pub Watch scheme.

• The LVA (their plan for a custody sergeant).

At the next meeting on Monday, September 9, Sally Thompson, a community officer from Pembrokeshire County Council, will be in attendance with a police officer. They will discuss anti-social behaviour with the association.
