Sitting on top of the Barrack Hill overlooking Pembroke Dock, is the Iconic Defensible Barracks, Pembroke Dock's very own 'Castle'.
Completed during the reign of Queen Victoria in 1844, the barracks was built in an unique 'star' shape, is surrounded by a dry moat, and was first occupied by the Royal Marines.
Now there is a chance to see the restoration work in progress when the building will be open to the public during a special Bicentenary 'open day' on Saturday, March 15.
Guided tours will be led during the day by fortifications expert Roger Thomas at 11 am, 12 noon and 1 pm, while the last tour will be at 2 pm.
