Pupils at a voluntary controlled school in Pembrokeshire have each been presented with an illustrated bible.

Stackpole VC School, which has strong links with the church, teamed up with the charity, Bible Explorer, to access colourful hard-back copies of the bible.

It followed on from a series of talks on the Old Testament given to Year 5 and 6 children by Mrs. Janet Hawking, of Bible Explorer.

"The talks were very stimulating, the children really enjoyed them,' said headteacher, Jayne Rees.

"We are hoping that Mrs. Hawking will come back soon to deliver some lessons on the New Testament.'
